List everyone who wrote the lyrics or music and agree their composition shares in writing. Composition splits describe ownership of the song, separate from ownership of the recording.
The agreed writer shares should total 100%. Identify any publisher administration separately and make sure agreements explain territories and duration.
If contributors disagree, settle the split before requesting registration or collection. Retain a dated approval from every participant.
